What is a diamond earring with the maring 25 on the back worth?
I have only one diamond earing the other is missing. It’s a very big diamond and a bit square shaped. I would really like to know what the 25 indicates? Worth? And can I put it on a ring?

“25″ is not a usual hallmark for a jewelry item. If it was “925″, it would indicate sterling silver (even if it is yellow, it could be gold-plated sterling silver, called “vermeil”). Sometimes if the hallmark is not clear, it could be mistakenly read, like maybe it is letters instead of numbers. ST would usually mean sterling silver, PLAT would be platinum, for instance. Other letters are sometimes used for the maker’s mark, but if it is fine jewelry, then there will be a marking somewhere on the piece which indicates what type of precious metal it is. The diamond can always be re-set in another jewelry piece–one of your local, independent jewelers would be a good bet (not a chain or mall store) to help you with that.
