Need help on Diamond engagement ring! The color grade!?
Ok , I just bought a diamond engagement ring…bridal set. The diamond is Round, .55 carat and clarity is VS2 which is pretty good. Also it has an Excellent cut. The only thing that makes me a “little” uneasy is the color grade, it is an L. I don’t think you can tell, if you don’t know much about diamonds …but just want opinions. Should I return and get a different diamond? FYI – paid almost $1,400 for the diamond. Also, the diamond is GIA certified.
Also, it is indeed mounted on yellow good….that is why I also say you can’t really tell. I bought it from a store that sales numerous diamonds of high quality so I know they wouldn’t sell me a dud. It came along with papers for appraisal which have it it around $1,400.

Supposedly, you can’t even tell when they are mounted. Take a trip back to the jewelry store and compare yours mounted to a more colorless one mounted before you do anything rash. You can’t have everything perfect unless you have unlimited funds. If you get better color, you sacrifice size, cut and clarity.
